National Panel of American Women Records (0834kc)

The Panel of American Women was founded in 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri, by Esther Brown, who was asked to coordinate a program for Brotherhood Week. The program was well received, and she began getting requests from other cities to organize more panels. The purpose of the panels, through presentation and discussion, was to increase awareness of prejudice, discrimination and racism.

This collection consists of correspondence, meeting minutes, public relations materials, and financial and legal records of the Panel of American Women. 1957-1986.
