Kansas City Browning Society Records (KC0003)


The Society was founded in 1927 with the purpose of studying the poetry and lives of Robert Barrett Browning (1812-1889) and his wife, Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861). Members met in small study circles and the society held monthly assembly meetings with guest speakers often from Kansas City academia presenting lectures on various aspects of the Brownings' poetry.

This collection consists of correspondence, by-laws, meeting minutes, ledgers, yearbooks, programs, and other materials relating to the Brownings and poetry. 1927-1988.
