In 1972, using part of her late husband’s estate, Helen Spencer donated money to begin construction of the Spencer Chemistry Building, with its special classrooms and labs designed to nurture scientific advances at UMKC. Another portion of the estate endowed the Kansas City Repertory’s Spencer Theater in the Performing Arts Center. |
