In 1958, the Hashinger family, then living in La Jolla, California, donated their residence at 5106 Cherry to the University of Kansas City.

A modified Tudor-style home of considerable size, it was designated as the official home of the UKC President. After several remodelings and updates, it is still a beautiful and functional Chancellor's residence and public reception space.
