RESIDENCE HALLS

It's fun to be a part of UMKC residential life where you have a chance to make friends with students from all parts of the country and all corners of the world.

As a freshman, you have two options for housing when you come to UMKC. You can choose between Oak Street Hall or Johnson Hall.

Each housing option has a live-in full time professional staff member (Resident Manager), a graduate student and Community Assistants (CAs) who are available to answer your questions or concerns. Like you, they were once new to UMKC, so they know best how to help you become familiar with the campus and cope with the transition from home.

Generally speaking, each housing option offers the following:

  • A 24-hour on-call and/or reception desk staff
  • Educational, social and recreational activities designed with you in mind
  • Regular patrolling by state certified UMKC Police
  • Required Meal plan and food options that include a full menu of entrees, snacks, deli items and Einstein's Bagels
  • Easy shuttle bus access
  • Parking
  • Laundry facilities

You're not alone in your campus living search. The Residential Life Business Office is here to help guide you through. Just call 816-235-8840.
