Chancellor Search Committee

University of Missouri System President Gary Forsee named a search committee to interview candidates for the chancellorship of the University of Missouri-Kansas City and to provide a list of unranked recommendations to the president.

The 16-member committee represents UMKC faculty, staff, students, administrators, alumni and the community. Forsee will ask the committee to consider candidates with strong academic credentials.

The committee will be co-chaired by UMKC Curators’ Professor of Music James Mobberley and UMKC Board of Trustees Chair-Elect B. John Readey III, a partner at Bryan Cave LLP.

  • Chris Brown, Associate Professor: Counseling and Educational Psychology, School of Education
  • Damon Bryant, Vice President of Marketing and Creative Services: WDAF-TV4 and Vice President of UMKC Alumni Association Board of Directors (presumptive president-elect)
  • Doug Buchanan, Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources (also serves as staff support for search committee)
