Letter from the Chairs

We have been asked by Gary Forsee, President of the University of Missouri system, to chair the Chancellor Search Committee. We are seeking an individual who will lead the UMKC campus and forge strong relationships with the Kansas City community as we fulfill our urban mission. While it is a daunting task to find someone who understands and can be responsive to our varied interests and needs, we are confident we have the right committee in place to accomplish our goal.

Though this is a closed search process, we are committed to providing as much information as possible without jeopardizing our candidates’ confidentiality. This website is one such communication tool. Other opportunities for communicating your ideas to us are the two Listening Sessions, listed above, scheduled for Thursday, October 16. These sessions are your opportunity to share with members of the Committee and search firm your thoughts on the qualities we should seek in a new Chancellor.

The left menu bar provides two additional ways for you to submit nominations and feedback to the committee.  Please utilize the tools you find here to be a part of this search. The Committee welcomes your thoughts and suggestions.
