Department of Environmental Health and Safety

Fire Safety

Fire Safety is a division of Environmental Health and Safety that ensures that fire codes are adhered to and that all fire risks are addressed.  It is the responsibility of the Fire Safety Division to provide routine inspections of fixed and portable fire suppression systems.  They also provide regular fire prevention inspections of all buildings owned by UMKC to ensure that any fire hazards are identified and corrected.  Fire Safety will respond to fire alarms as well as handle any complaints that may fire related.  Fire extinguisher training is available and may be scheduled through contacting the Fire Inspector.

Please contact the Fire Safety Division with any questions or concerns regarding fire safety on UMKC Campus.
